Don't mind me. I'm just checking on my abs.
It's an area that many people are concerned about. Truth be told, everyone has abs. Some just may be hiding under a lil extra cushion. #Guilty.
My goal for the next 4 weeks is to develop more core strength and definition...you know "wash board" abs.
You may be wondering, "You're a personal trainer. Why don't you already have a ripped stomach? You workout all the time!"
Well to be honest, it doesn't quite work like that for me. For one, it was not a top priority on my list of fitness goals. For two, there is a little known fact that when you spend your time training others (on top of other adulting responsibilities), you rarely make time to properly train yourself. Lately, I've been in maintenance mode - making sure I maintain, not gain.
The holiday season is rapidly approaching. That means more food temptations and festivities sucking up the last bit of free time within your schedule. Speaking of which, is the Thanksgiving Weekend Workout Series event on your calendar? Tackling a fitness goal this time of year will be a big challenge, but I want to go into the new year strong.
My game plan is simple. While you can't spot train (target a specific area), it is possible to widdle the middle and reduce total body fat. Contrary to popular belief, it will take more than 200 sit-ups per day to have a visible 6 pack. My overall goal is a totally toned body and increased muscle definition. With a dedicated workout regimen and healthy eating habits, it will happen. Nutrition is key!
